The Prehos Hockey Team: Camaraderie, Passion and Paramedic Spirit

Since 2016, Prehos supports a hockey team composed mainly of passionate paramedics from across Quebec, that has been evolving with determination. As of 2022, we are proud to be the main sponsor of this team playing in the SEC league and renamed Prehos. Cheer us on at Séminaire St-François or occasionally at the Centre Vidéotron to experience unforgettable moments of hockey. Ours is a team that embodies the Prehos spirit of camaraderie and passion.

Meet the Prehos hockey team: supporting paramedics on and off the ice

Simon Desrochers

Captain

With 15 years of experience as a paramedic, Simon has demonstrated inspiring leadership that makes him an excellent captain. Outstanding both on and off the ice, he is the type of player who excels on both sides of the rink. If a Selke Trophy were awarded in our league, he would be a prime candidate to receive it.

Sébastien Boissoneault

Assistant Captain

With his 18-year career as a paramedic, Sébastien is the team’s veteran who advocates for impeccable work ethics. Able to play both on the offensive and defensive fronts, his playing style makes him a tough opponent who often frustrates opposing teams with his blocked shots. His role as the team’s assistant captain and team involvement make him a source of motivation for his teammates.

Charles-Antoine Côté

Assistant Captain

Charles-Antoine represents the youth and energy of the PREHOS defensive brigade. He is the star defenseman every hockey team wants to have. A paramedic with several years of experience under the collar, this versatile player represents the future of our team and his leadership led him to quickly become an assistant to Captain Desrochers.

Jonathan Beaupré

Assistant Captain

Jonathan is the third assistant captain of the Prehos team. His work in the face-off circle and constant presence in front of the opposing net give other teams headaches when Jonathan is on the ice. A paramedic for over 17 years, Jonathan demonstrates the importance of working hard to make his presence felt on the ice.

Pier-Yves Genest

A versatile player who can perform as both forward and defenseman, PY stands out on the ice with his contagious energy. With or without the puck, Pier-Yves manages to pull off small miracles that on occasion earn him proud thanks from his goaltender. Working in the business sector, his lively personality take the team chemistry to a next level, and he knows how to have an immediate impact on the game.

Jean-Philippe Germain

An experienced center player, his passion for hockey is as intense as his dedication to the paramedic profession, which he has practiced for 15 years. This veteran always steps up his game during crucial moments and his goals are often scored in pivotal situations. He is the big brother who often sets an example for the younger players and his presence on the ice is both consistent and noteworthy.

Jean-Philippe Brière

Working in the business sector for several years, Jean-Philippe is the type of player every team wants to have. An excellent center player, his work in the face-off circle and control of the puck allow our team to dominate time of possession. Jean-Philippe’s abilities as a passer and sharpshooter help to create scoring opportunities for his teammates.

Vincent Céré-Boivin

A paramedic with 8 years of experience, this hard-hitting and defensive-minded player is focused on preventing goals as a key element of the defensive brigade. In addition to effective breakouts, his work to create space in front of the goalie and his abilitie to win critical battles along the boards make him a tough opponent. He doesn’t hesitate to block opposing shots and also strives to contribute offensively.

Samuel Ross

In addition to a 10-year career as a paramedic, Samuel is a true wizard with the puck. Able to act as both a defenseman and an attacker, he transforms his stick into a magic wand to dazzle opponents and frustrate opposing goaltenders. His skating ability and intensity make him a constant threat whenever he’s on the ice.

Pierre-Olivier Joncas

As the rookie paramedic and player for the PREHOS team, Pierre-Olivier is the perfect example of a player all opponents fear. He possesses remarkable speed, a thunderous shot and exceptional puck control. His zeal often leads the opponent to take bad penalties and he is the first to make them pay with a highly-accurate shot on goal.

Charles Lapointe

This former paramedic with 5 years of experience now works in sales. His significant stature and straightforward manner on the ice always disturb opposing players and Charles knows how to take advantage of it. This power forward reflects his passion on and off the ice. An exemplary teammate, he knows how to sacrifice a play to give his teammates a chance to score.

Rémi Chouinard-Pelletier

Paramedic for 16 years and operations supervisor since 2014, this goaltender started his career on the ice in 2016. His imposing stature in goal compensates for his lack of experience as a goalie. His teammates take great pleasure in reminding him of his Achilles’ heel: the first shot on goal. However, his immense will to make saves leads him to devote himself wholeheartedly to his team.
